Identify alarms and major systems

Record device types, model information and any obvious maintenance records.

Walk normal routes

Notice stairs, lighting, thresholds and storage conflicts.

Check product manuals and recalls

Inherited appliances or fixtures may have missing documentation.

Report or assess technical issues

Unknown electrical, gas, structural or building-system concerns need qualified review.

General prevention information only. In an active emergency, follow local emergency services and official instructions. Do not attempt electrical, structural, fire-suppression, hazardous-chemical or other safety-critical work without appropriate professional competence.
